Most of today's music is electronic to a certain extent. Whether you’re playing a synthesizer, an acoustic guitar plugged into an amplifier, singing into a microphone, or listening to a recording, if the sound is being processed through an electronic device you’ve got some form of electronic music. 

Starting this August, 2018, The Metropolitan Conservatory and Dr. Victor Penniman (Ormesby Productions, g.nome and the soulless minions of orthodoxy, Chill deLuxe), will begin offering courses in electronic music of all sorts, from learning to record your violin (or other instrument/voice) with your computer, to EDM (Electronic Dance Music), HipHop, Experimental genres, live sound reinforcement, and studio production.  

Our pilot course, beginning this August, on Saturdays from 10-11, will begin with the basics of making music on your mobile device, using Apple’s iPad and iPhone as examples. Even though you may mostly use your iPad for reading, web-browsing, and messaging, there are apps to turn that amazing little piece of tech into a musical instrument as sensitive and expressive as any you could play, into a full scratch-able DJ rig, a mobile recording studio, and so much more, all for the nominal prices you find at the App Store. Along with learning GarageBand for iOS specifically, we will cover many of the basics of Electronic Music generally, making this course the perfect introduction to our more advanced courses to be offered starting later this Fall/Winter.
